2009 model year changes

Following its introduction in 2008, the Dodge Avenger receives few changes for 2009. For starters, the lineup shrinks, as the base SE has been dropped, leaving only the SXT and R/T models. The availability of all-wheel drive has also been dropped. Extra noise-reducing materials have been added to the Avenger, and SXT and R/T models now feature anti-lock brakes, a rear spoiler, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls and fog lamps as standard equipment. The R/T also adds 18-inch chrome wheels and various interior convenience items to its list of standards.

Special features for 2009

The 2009 Dodge Avenger is a smart, boldly styled mid-size competitor to the Chevy Malibu, Ford Fusion and Toyota Camry. The Avenger has expanded standard-feature content, including side air bags, anti-lock brakes, an alarm and the innovative Chill Zone cooler system. Several options, such as the MyGig audio/navigation system and heated/cooled cup holder, also differentiate it feature-wise from other mid-size sedans.
