2007 model year changes

Mercedes-Benz redesigned their SLR McLaren coupe for 2007, badging it as the "722 Edition" and giving it all sorts of performance enhancements. Horsepower has increased from 617 to 641 and torque has also been boosted, from 575 to a jaw-dropping 605 ft-lbs. These engine advancements, along with a curb weight that is nearly 100 pounds lighter than the 2006 model, have cut 0 to 60 times down to a reported 3.6 seconds. To accommodate the extra power, larger Brembo ceramic disc brakes have been installed. A new front air splitter, a lower ride height, a stiffer suspension setup, and decreased body roll enhance the already superb handling characteristics. New 19-inch alloy wheels add a distinctive visual touch. Inside the cockpit, revised instrumentation, more carbon fiber, various 722 insignias, and red stitching greet the driver.

Special features for 2007

With only 150 units expected to leave the factory, Mercedes-Benz' McLaren SLR 722 Edition coupe is one of the most exclusive models being produced for the 2007 model year by any manufacturer. And while its sticker price may approach a half million dollars, it offers performance that only a handful of production cars on the planet can match.
A hand-built super car with the heritage of both Mercedes Benz and the legendary McLaren Formula One racing team, the SLR McLaren features a 5.5-liter supercharged V8 engine that produces 617 horsepower and propels this F1 inspired machine from 0 to 60 in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 208 miles-per-hour! The body features a full carbon fiber mono-coque construction for both structural, yet lightweight rigidity.
