2007 model year changes

Mercedes-Benz' S-Class has been completely redesigned for 2007. The big flagship luxury sedan grows slightly in all outward dimensions, and gets more power across the line. Leading-edge technology features include "smart" massaging seats, a night-vision system, and an advanced cruise control system. Late in the model year, an all-wheel-drive S550 4MATIC model joined the lineup, as did the S65 AMG. Gone are 2006 models the S350, S430 and S500.

Special features for 2007

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has always been where traditional luxury and cutting-edge technology meet, and the 2007 offerings are no exception. With significantly more power and sportier equipment than in 2006, however, the S-Class is now in a new, high-performance realm. Furthermore, the latest S-Class builds on its reputation for safety with an abundance of active and passive safety features. Even though the new S550 has added standard equipment and about 20 percent more power than the comparable outgoing model, the 2006 S500, Mercedes-Benz is pricing the new S550 below that model.
Redesigned for 2007, the S-Class offers a bold new body design with styling cues taken the ultra-luxury Maybach. The full-size luxury four-door five-passenger car is offered as the S550 (5.5liter V8 - 382HP), S600 (5.5Liter V12 - 510HP) and the S65 (6.0Liter V12 36 valve twin-turbo - 604HP) with an electronically controlled seven-speed automatic transmission.
