Mitsubishi's North American vehicle line-up presents a massive upgrade for 2006 led by two all-new versions of the brand's performance arsenal. Regarded as the performance flagship for Mitsubishi, the Lancer sedan-derived Evolution has progressed into a ninth global iteration. The new look 2006 Mitsubishi Evolution IX is propelled by a 286-horsepower, turbocharged and intercooled engine supported by the company's MIVEC system. An evolved feel of performance is also presented with the Eclipse line-up for 2006 with a new forward-leaning exterior impression. All-new for 2006 with a wider track, a stronger platform and updated driver-oriented interior, the redesigned Mitsubishi Eclipse comes with either four-cylinder power or a V-6 engine. Mitsubishi rejoins the pickup truck segment for 2006 with the debut of the new Raider. Based on the Dodge Dakota, the Mitsubishi Raider offered in extended and double cab configuration are available with a 4.7-liter V-8 engine. The Mitsubishi Lancer and Endeavor both receive revised treatment to their front end styling for 2006.
