The 2004 Cadillac XLR is a brand-new two-door luxury sports convertible that seats two passengers and houses a potent 4.6L Northstar V8 under the hood.

Cadillac approaches the 2004 model year with three brand-new vehicles designed to broaden their reach in the luxury car class. Billed on Cadillac's halo car, the 2004 XLR debuts as a two-seat, retractable hardtop convertible based on a Chevrolet Corvette frame. Distinct styling, Northstar V-8 engine power and available all-wheel drive are eye-catching characteristic of the Cadillac XLR. Entering the premium sport utility vehicle segment in 1999, Cadillac has taken the plunge into the relatively-new luxury crossover utility market for 2004. Direct competition to foreign luxury Mercedes-Benz M-Class and BMW X5 vehicles, the 2004 Cadillac SRX features utility vehicle proportions while also offering a car-like ride. A Northstar V-8 engine featuring variable valve timing and Magnetic Ride Control are some standout equipment offered with the new Cadillac SRX crossover. The third new entrant to the Cadillac product portfolio comes from their all-new V performance line. The 2004 Cadillac CTS-V is a high-end sport sedan equipped with a 400-horsepower, 5.7-liter V-8. A high-tech yet costly option, Night Vision technology that debuted on the DeVille in 2000 is no longer offered on the flagship sedan.
