Land Rover's product range expands to three distinct vehicles for 2002. Adding a new compact sport utility vehicle infused with the brand's devotion to four-wheel drive luxury, the 2002 Land Rover Freelander arrives in three trim levels. For 2002, the Land Rover Discovery Series II line has been cut to two trim levels through the exclusion of the mid-level LE model. Both versions of the 2002 Discovery Series II are powered by a 4.0-liter V-8 engine and is available with seven-passenger seating. With a completely-new Range Rover expected for 2003, the 2002 model of the high-end luxury sport utility exists only on HSE trim propelled by a 222-horsepower 4.6-liter V-8 engine.
