The Acura Integra line is replaced by a new sport coupe. Developed by the luxury car division, the 2002 Acura RSX is augmented for towards a full-fledged performance two-door with racy styling. The RSX is offered with a base 160-horsepower i-VTEC engine as well as a Type S equipped with a 200-horsepower that is matched with a six-speed manual transmission. Acura also provides some added potency to the TL sedan with a new high-powered model. The 2002 Acura TL Type S is tailored with bold performance sedan equipment including a sport-tuned suspension and a 260-horsepower engine. Outside of the Type S power territory, the Acura RL does earn an output boost to 225 horsepower. Restyling of the 2002 Acura NSX introduces fixed HID (high intensity discharge) headlights in the place of the previous pop-up headlights.
