A recreational vehicle company founded in 1949, Silver Streak originally built travel trailers based on a design acquired from aircraft manufacturer Curtiss-Wright. Building aluminum vacation trailers focused on delivering mobile comfort, the products of Silver Streak were able to advertise their towables as a lightweight vehicle. The Silver Streak name expanded into truck camper and motorhome production through the 1960s allowing the company to operate as a full-fledged recreational vehicle outfitter. After a long history spanning almost two generations, Silver Streak closed after the 1996 model year.
