Founded in 1920 as a travel trailer producer, Trotwood was a major Ohio-based recreational vehicle manufacturer that operated for six decades. It is said that Trotwood was the company that first popularized putting trailer doors at the side of the unit. Becoming a fixture in the camping trailer market in the 1950s, the Trotwood company would also feature small Class C motorhomes during the 1970s. The Trotwood name met its demise in 1981 when fire destroyed their manufacturing plant.
