2013 Zero DS™ Price Details and Specs



New for 2013, the Zero DS™ is an electric motorcycle designed to deliver riders the freedom of negotiating paved roads or dirt trails. Based on the same structure as the Zero S™, an aluminum twin spar frame on the 2013 Zero DS™ is engineered with lightweight and toughness. Using a low center of gravity to achieve nimble handling, the Zero DS™ is fitted with an adjustable suspension consisting of 38 millimeter inverted front forks and a piggy-back reservoir shock. The front suspension of the 2013 Zero DS™ can travel up to 7 inches while the rear wheel is permitted to move 7.69 inches. Full wheel Nissin hydraulic disc brakes brings the DS™ motorcycle’s 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel to a steady stop. Two variations of the 2013 Zero DS™ electric motorcycle is available providing 8.5 kWh and an 11.4 kWh Z-Force lithium-ion battery. When the 2013 Zero DS™ is equipped with the lower capacity 8.5 kWh will be able to achieve a maximum city riding range of 95 miles. Standard full charge time for the 8.5 kWh version of the Zero DS™ is 6 hours through a standard outlet or as short as 1.5 hours through a CHAdeMO quick-charging accessory. Allowing a trek of up to 126 miles, the Zero DS™ ZF11.4 will prove more satisfying for those wanting the added benefit of increased riding trips. On both models of the 2013 Zero DS™, highway travel will result with reduced riding distances. Battery power is fed into a 54-horsepower air-cooled electric motor. Owners of the Zero DS™ can enjoy an interactive connection with their motorcycles with a mobile app providing a link to performance parameters.
