An agile yet powerful motorcycle, the 2013 Triumph Speed boasts a new chassis and improved riding position. Featuring an aluminum frame combined with an aluminum alloy swingarm, the 2013 Triumph Speed boasts a high structural strength and predictable handling characteristics. A Showa suspension system is included on the 2013 Triumph Speed Triple model consisting of upside down forks on the front and a monoshock on the rear. With the 2013 Triumph Speed Triple R model, Öhlins contributes a suspension unit specially developed for the motorcycle. Larger brake discs and lightweight wheels forged by Otto Fuchs are also unique to the 2013 Triumph Speed Triple R. A final touch included on the 2013 Triumph Speed Triple R model is carbon fiber components sourced from the same company that supplies sports car builder Lamborghini. Propulsion for the 2013 Triumph Speed Triple and Triple R models is derived from a 1,050 cc inline three-cylinder engine. Through the influence of a multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection system, 133 horsepower churns from the 2013 Triumph Speed’s powerplant. Torque production has been improved seven percent with the 2013 Triumph Speed pegged at 81.9 feet-pounds. Anti-lock braking system is included on all 2013 Triumph Speed models.
