Suitable for recreational or competitive motocross riding, the 2012 Yamaha YZ boasts long wheel travel and solid construction. The 2012 Yamaha YZ line-up consists of five distinct engines consisting of both two-stroke and four-stroke configurations. The smallest displacement model in the YZ range is the 2012 Yamaha YZ85. Powered by an 85 cc two-stroke engine, the 2012 Yamaha YZ85 features disc brakes, six-speed transmission, and a long travel suspension system. Wheel travel for the 2012 Yamaha YZ85 is rated at 10.8 inches at the front and 11.1 inches at the rear. In addition to the YZ85, two-stroke engine power for the 2012 Yamaha YZ is also provided with a single-cylinder 124 cc and 249 cc displacement size powerplant. The 2012 Yamaha YZ125 as well as YZ250 models shares a KYB suspension system allowing 11.8 inches of wheel travel at the front and 12.4 inches of rear movement. For more refined engine power and a stronger chassis, a carbureted 250 cc four-stroke engine propels the new 2012 Yamaha YZ250F. Combining fuel injection with the four-stroke powerplant, the 2012 Yamaha YZ450F boasts peak performance for motocross activities. The Yamaha YZ450F is slightly lighter for 2012 and features improvements to its fuel delivery system.
