Polaris’ mainstream all-terrain vehicle line-up, the Sportsman® features a wide range of capabilities and characteristics. The 2012 Polaris Sportsman® ATV model line share a commitment to creating a useful utility machine. The entry-level 2012 Polaris Sportsman® 90 is targeted for youth riders between age 10 and 16. Featuring composite cargo racks with tie-downs, the 2012 Polaris Sportsman® 90 is propelled by an 89 cc four-stroke powerplant. A considerable upgrade from the Sportsman® 90, the 2012 Polaris Sportsman® 400 HO features the performance of a 455 cc engine and a rider selectable four-wheel drive system. Front MacPherson struts and a rear double A-arm suspension system allow the 2012 Polaris Sportsman® 400 HO to ride over the ground with 11.25 inches of clearance. Cargo rack capacity is rated at 90 pounds for the front and 180 pounds at the rear. The 2012 Polaris Sportsman® 500 HO is a popular ATV marrying power and practicality. Propelled through a 498 cc single-cylinder engine, the 2012 Polaris Sportsman® 500 HO machine can tow up to 1,225 pounds. Featuring the benefits of electronic fuel injection, the 2012 Polaris Sportsman® 550 model is powered by a lively 549 cc engine. The 2012 Polaris Sportsman® 550 also provides the availability of electronic power steering for easier control on the trail. At the high-end of the Polaris Sportsman® line-up, the 2012 Sportsman® 800 EFI features the full advantages of the product range. A fully independent suspension and engine braking is included on the 2012 Polaris Sportsman® 800 EFI powered by a 760 cc two-cylinder engine. For 2012, the Polaris Sportsman® 500 HO and Sportsman® 550 line-up offers a series of limited edition models. Orange Madness, Polaris Pursuit, Blue Fire and Browning configurations provide unique colors and accessories for the 2012 Polaris Sportsman® range.
