A highly equipped sport utility vehicle, the 2012 Polaris Ranger® HD features maximum toughness and off-roading ability. Constructed on a steel frame, the 2012 Polaris Ranger® HD stands on a sophisticated suspension system. Featuring a similar four-wheel independent suspension system as other Polaris Ranger® models, the 2012 Ranger® HD is uniquely equipped with self-leveling Nivomat rear shocks. A rider-selectable all-wheel drive system is equipped on the 2012 Polaris Ranger® HD with a VersaTrac turf mode differential. Power steering and four-wheel disc brakes are standard on the 2012 Polaris Ranger® HD. Powered by a liquid-cooled two-cylinder engine, the 760 cc displacement powerplant propels the 2012 Polaris Ranger® HD 800 with 40 horsepower. A continuously variable transmission is connected to the 760 cc engine. Engine braking is also part of the 2012 Polaris Ranger® HD 800 providing an extra level of control off-road. Capable of towing 2,000 pounds, the 2012 Polaris Ranger® HD also features a cargo bed capacity of 1,000 pounds. The 2012 Polaris Ranger® HD features an interior providing seating for up to three passengers.
