A lightweight sport bike that adapts comfortably for everyday riding, the 2012 Ducati Hypermotard is billed as a highly functional vehicle. Placing great emphasis on minimizing weight by deleting unessential components, the 2012 Ducati Hypermotard reveals much of its rigid frame as part of its design. The Ducati Hypermotard line consists of a 796 and an 1100 EVO SP for the 2012 model year. Both powered by air-cooled, two-cylinder engines, the 2012 Ducati Hypermotard line benefits with electronic fuel injection. With a 803 cc powerplant, the 2012 Ducati Hypermotard 796 muscles out 81 horsepower. Weighing just 366 pounds, the 2012 Ducati Hypermotard 796 is fitted with a suspension consisting of a 43-millimeter front Marzocchi fork. Providing a more aggressive 50-millimeter front fork, the 2012 Ducati Hypermotard 1100 EVO SP is powered by a 95-horsepower, 1,078 cc engine. Both the 2012 Ducati Hypermotard 796 and Hypermotard 1100 EVO SP have their powerplants mated with a six-speed transmission. Two riders can now sit comfortably on-board the 2012 Ducati Hypermotard thanks to longer seating dimensions.
