2012 Can-Am Outlander™ Price Details and Specs



A line of utility ATVs, the 2012 Can-Am™ Outlander™ line features several models boasting high power-to-weight ratios. Sharing a SST frame, the lower level 2012 Can-Am™ Outlander™ 400, 500 and 650 models all feature four-wheel independent suspension and disc braking. Riding on front MacPherson struts and rear torsional trailing arm independent suspension, the entry-level 2012 Can-Am™ Outlander™ 400 is powered by an electronically fuel-injected 400 cc engine. Through a continuously variable transmission, power from the 2012 Can-Am™ Outlander™ 400’s engine can be fed to two or four wheels thanks to a driver-selectable system that includes a Visco-Lok front differential. Offered with a liquid-cooled, 499.6 cc V-twin powerplant, the 2012 Can-Am™ Outlander™ 500 shares much of the same components with the Outlander™ 400 ATV. Upgrading to a more aggressive double A-arm front suspension, the 2012 Can-Am™ Outlander™ 650 is powered by a larger 649.6 cc displacement V-twin powerplant. Providing front suspension travel of nine inches, the 2012 Can-Am™ Outlander™ 800R is propelled by a potent 799.9 cc two-cylinder engine. Constructed on the SST G2 frame, the 2012 Can-Am™ Outlander™ 800R and the top of the line Outlander™ 1000 model offers maximum off-roading handling. Available with all engine options of the 2012 Can-Am™ Outlander™, an XT trim package adds a Warn winch, heavy-duty bumpers and Carlisle tires. Ideally outfitted for muddy trails, the 2012 Can-Am™ Outlander™ 800 X mr is uniquely equipped with an Air Control Suspension and an Integrated Snorkel system.
