Suited for work and play, the 2012 Can-Am™ Commander side-by-side utility vehicle line boasts a powerful engine and striking, modern styling. Constructed on a steel chassis, a protective roll cage protects the two passengers while also supplying the rigidity to handle almost any trail the four-wheel drive of the 2012 Can-Am™ Commander can take operators. A driver-selectable drivetrain, users of the 2012 Can-Am™ Commander can choice two-wheel or four-wheel control. A suspension consisting of front double A-arms and a rear independent trailing arm allows the 2012 Can-Am™ Commander to achieve up to 10 inches of wheel travel. Motion Control shocks on the 2012 Can-Am™ Commander provides effective damping on uneven trails. Two different levels of performance for the 2012 Can-Am™ Commander line are derived through the 800R and 1000 model. Featuring an electronically fuel-injected, 799.9 cc V-twin engine, the 2012 Can-Am™ Commander 800R is very versatile over a multitude of terrains. If more power is in demand, the 2012 Can-Am™ Commander 1000 model features an 85-horsepower, 976 cc V-twin engine. Both the 2012 Can-Am™ Commander 800R and Commander 1000 can be ordered with an XT package featuring a 4,000-pound Warn winch, Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires and a heavy-duty front bumper. For 2012, the Can-Am™ Commander 1000 can also be ordered with the X or Limited package. On the yellow/black 2012 Can-Am™ Commander 1000 X, an upgraded suspension system provided by Fox, 12-inch aluminum beadlock wheels is included as standard. The Limited model of the 2012 Can-Am™ Commander adds a two-piece hard roof, half windshield, Garmin Montana touch screen GPS and a four-speaker audio system.
