Road Test Review: 2010 Lexus HS 250h

The 2010 Lexus HS 250h compact hybrid luxury sedan is catching some sun at The Garage.

Lexus knows the hybrid game well. They were the first to bring a mid-size luxury hybrid SUV/Crossover to the market in the form of the RX and they introduced the first full-size luxury hybrid sedan with the LS. They also introduced the first luxury hybrid sports sedan in the form of the GS. Now, they are offering a luxury hybrid compact sedan with the all-new 2010 Lexus HS 250h. “Top down, chrome spinnin’…” or in this case, it would be the 19” lightweight alloy wheels wrapped in high-performance Bridgestone Potenza tires; 245 in the front and large 275s strapped to the back. The song continues that “you see the boss grinnin’…” and I am doing more than grinnin’. Is that bulge in your hood from a 414 hp V8 or am I just happy to see you?

Is there such a thing as having your automotive cake and being able to drive it too? If you drive any one of the handful of available sport sedans, then it’s possible to get a slice. Sliding behind the wheel of the 2009 BMW M3 Sedan however, I received a face full of Funfetti cake and pressing the gas pedal further only spreads the frosting wider across my smeared, “why-so-serious” gaping maw.
