The hills are alive … with the sound of Porsche precision.
We recently brought you information on the redesigned 2009 911 Carrera 4 and 4S. Now Porsche has released information on the upcoming Targa model.
So what jumps out at you with regard to this car? Is it the new LEDs in the head and taillights? Perhaps you are excited by the jump in horsepower for the two engine options (20 horsepower for the Targa 4 and 30 horsepower for the 4S)? Maybe you are a transmission aficionado, and you can't wait to try out the new PDK 7-speed double-clutch gearbox? I know what it is … you are excited by all of that plus the 16.58 square feet of glass that make up the gorgeous Targa roof.
The roof comprises two segments, called the "roof" and the "tailgate," and can slide open in seven seconds. If you open it up all the way, you get almost 5 square feet of open space above the passenger cabin. The glass roof and tailgate utilize a special tinted glass that protects you and your fräulein from UV radiation and excessive heat.
The 2009 Porsche Targa will make sure you are never again late for das dance party in Stuttgart.
The new 911 models will start popping up in your local Porsche showroom starting in September of this year, while the Targa 4 and 4S will be available in October. The MSRPs will be $89,500 and $100,100, respectively. You can compare these prices to the 2008 Porsche Targa 4 and Targa 4S at NADAguides.com.
