The Morgan Aero 8 ... bug-eyed but still beautiful.
Here in Southern California, I come across all manner of automotive awesomeness. I see Ferraris, Bentleys, and other exotic cars on a weekly basis. One car I had never seen before is the Morgan Aero 8 ... until now.
Walking out of lunch the other day, I spotted this specimen sitting in the valet court practically screaming to be driven at questionable speeds. This car is capable of 0-60 jaunts in the sub 4.5 second range and has a top speed of 170 mph.
I could picture myself behind the wheel of this Morgan with its (queue Hero by Nas) 367 bhp, blasting down PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) with the sun setting over Catalina Island. I would stop for dinner on the coast in Laguna Beach as the sun finally reached the horizon.
My glass of Brunello would arrive from the server as I admired the pink, purple, orange, and red hues of the sky against the red of my Morgan's paint as well as my glass of wine. Only one glass though, because I would soon be back behind the wheel pushing the vehicle harder with the headlights scanning the desert highway of the I-15. The sky lit up as I turned the corner, and I was in Vegas for the weekend ...
I was soon snapped back to reality, as I hopped in my own car and drove home down PCH, while the smoggy, late-afternoon haze obscured my view of Catalina. I reached home and reclined on the couch with a cold beer. My wife asked what the far-off look in my eye was, but I didn't have an answer for her. I could only think of the car and what adventures it might bring.

This Morgan Aero 8 reminds me of Freddy Krueger as it continually haunts my dreams. (Bonus: Ferrari F430 Spyder in this shot.)
