The glowing brakes and roaring engines a few feet away from you as the drivers wrestle their purpose-built machines down Main St. Now imagine piloting one of these rumbling rockets through side streets, past the local store fronts, and occasionally over someone’s lawn. You have just pictured the 7th Annual Targa Newfoundland.

This year marks the first year that Steve Millen, good friend to NADAguides.com, and his crew at STILLEN attempted to not only compete, but to win the event. The STILLEN folks teamed up with Mike Monticello from Road & Track who served as Co-Driver for the targa - their chariot of choice; a modified 2009 Nissan GT-R. How did they do? Exotic sports cars are the stuff that dreams are made of. As a younger man, I was in love with the Porsche 959. Some kids adorned their walls with shots of the Lamborghini Countach while others fell head over heels with the Ferrari F40. It's very early in the morning but I am wide awake…

I’m up at dawn…
I have coffee beginning to course through my veins but for the first time in a long time, I don’t need it. The air is brisk as I stand in the parking lot of a random southern California beach. My eyes are adjusting to the early morning light which is a beautiful blend of muted orange and a deep dark blue, however it is my sense of hearing that is causing my pulse to quicken.
