Road Test Review: 2009 Infiniti FX50

Posted by Jeff Glucker on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 11:29 AM

2009 Infiniti FX50
The 2009 Infiniti FX50 is a crossover SUV that thinks (and acts) like a sports car.

Close your eyes and stick out your hand. I am going to put a set of keys in your palm and give you some quick stats about which car they belong to. A seven-speed automatic transmission with manual mode and downshift rev matching. This is linked to a 5.0L DOHC V8 engine pushing out 390 horses and 369 lb-ft of torque to an Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system. Dual stainless steel exhaust pipes bellow out a raucous symphony and large brakes to bring the large wheels and tires to a stop. What kind of car is this? Trick question, it’s not a car; it is the 2009 Infiniti FX50 – a luxury crossover SUV. More...

The 2009 Infiniti M45x stopping in western Long Island for the first leg of the trip.

Flying across the country to attend a wedding can be a trying task at times. Hotels, rentals cars, and the chance that you don’t really want to spend hours with people you don’t know. This wedding was taking place in Long Island and my wife and I have family and friends spread throughout New England so we decided to turn it into a week long road trip. The hotels were lined up, and we really like the people whose wedding we were attending so all that was left was transportation. Enter the 2009 Infiniti M45x as our chariot of choice. Hotels check, good friends and family check, and a comfortable cruiser checkmate? More...

Road Test Review: Infiniti G37 Convertible

Posted by Mike Caudill on Thursday, May 21, 2009 10:54 AM

2009 Infiniti G37 Convertible
March Spring Preview

The all-new 2009 Infiniti G37 Convertible (C) was the talk of the auto industry in early March as the media spent a day behind the wheel of several first generation G37 Cs. Launched at the 2008 Los Angeles International Auto Show last November, the G37 Convertible that will hit the market in late June will be the most technologically advanced G37 to date.

So, what better place to launch the G37 Convertible than in beautiful Southern California, where the temperatures hover in the 70’s and it’s always a perfect day to drop the top of a convertible?More...

Road Test Review: 2009 Infiniti G37s Sedan

Posted by Jeff Glucker on Tuesday, February 03, 2009 9:41 AM

The 2009 Infiniti G37s sedan may just be the perfect new car (in the under $50k segment).

Everybody has their own opinion in regards to what they feel is the “best” car for a given year. Now it’s time for me to throw my hat in the ring and tell you which car I think is the best car for 2009. I assume people would figure me to pick something like the Maserati GranTurismo (an instant classic), the Nissan GT-R (an all-around astounding automotive experience) or even the Volkswagen Jetta TDI (proving that diesel is a great choice). Those people are wrong though – my favorite car so far this year is the 2009 Infiniti G37s sedan. More...

Road Test Review: 2009 Infiniti FX35

Posted by Jeff Glucker on Monday, December 15, 2008 10:24 AM

2009 Infiniti FX35
The 2009 Infiniti FX35 is the epitome of the SPORT in a Sport Utility Vehicle.

I really enjoyed driving the Infinti G37s coupe a few months ago.  It was very sporty and comfortable at the same time, but it does lack some of the usefulness that comes with a larger vehicle.  Thankfully, I was handed the keys to a "platinum graphite" colored 2009 Infiniti FX35. With its potent V6, 7-speed paddle-shifted automatic and Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system, would it deliver the same thrill as the G coupe? Short answer – yes; longer answer–keep reading. More...
