Is that bulge in your hood from a 414 hp V8 or am I just happy to see you?

Is there such a thing as having your automotive cake and being able to drive it too? If you drive any one of the handful of available sport sedans, then it’s possible to get a slice. Sliding behind the wheel of the 2009 BMW M3 Sedan however, I received a face full of Funfetti cake and pressing the gas pedal further only spreads the frosting wider across my smeared, “why-so-serious” gaping maw. The clock says 5:00am and I am scrambling to grab my gear. Race suit, check. Gloves and boots, check. Fireproof underwear, check. Helmet, check. Sleeping bag and extra clothes, check. I hop in my mobile hotel, a 2009 Dodge Sprinter, and head to LA to meet the rest of my team. I have entered the 24 Hours of Lemons - Buttonwillow and we have a 2 hour drive ahead of us. The 1982 BMW 633 CSi is on the trailer, in full CSI:Miami regalia per our chosen theme, and my coffee is in the cup holder. Let the fun begin. More...

This 1982 BMW 633CSi isn't burning any gas at the moment but I smell something…hope.

All those fancy racing teams you see on TV have large budgets to help power their multi-million dollar enterprises and successful racing seasons. Sure, their drivers have plenty of skill but their machines are purpose-built feats of engineering. What would happen if you forced these teams to compete in cars that cannot cost more than $500? The 2009 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid is the first large luxury SUV hybrid, and somewhere Ed Begley Jr is crying.

I have lived in California for the last 6 years (14 years total) and yet I have never driven up to Big Sur. So, my wife and I decided that the long Thanksgiving weekend would be a good time to get out of Orange County and explore this great state a bit. The idea was also appealing to our neighbors, Tom and Michelle, and our two dogs, Frank and Beans. Clearly, a sports car is out of the question for a trip with this many passengers; however a 2009 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid arrived the day before turkey day, and I found one more thing to be thankful for this year.
