The NADAguides Ford GT, all nice and clean before it was sent to New Zealand to get very dirty at the capable hands of Steve Millen.
Steve Millen is down in his native New Zealand for the 2008 Dunlop Targa driving his STILLEN tuned NADAguides Ford GT.
We got a brief introduction about the targa from Steve's son and navigator, Kyle Millen, as well as an update from New Zealand...
"Each year New Zealand officials work closely with the organizers of the Targa Rally to close down 38 special roads. These roads will see everything from 1956 Ford Thunderbirds, to Subaru WRX rally cars and one very special Ford GT supercar. One of the great parts of the Dunlop Targa Rally New Zealand is the wide assortment of cars and people. Sometimes the cars are the incredibly extreme, while the driver’s are pretty subdued. In some cases the driver is the crazy one, while the car is pretty “normal.” In either case, you can guarantee that the car will be driven to its max, and the drivers and spectators will all have a great time! Please join us on our 6-day trip around the Dunlop Targa Rally New Zealand. Starting from Auckland and finishing in Wellington, we will be covering over 1200 miles in our specially prepared Ford GT."
We have been tracking their pace via the targa's website, but the time difference (they are ahead of us by 19 hours) makes it difficult. As we hear more from them, we will continue to update the blog with their progress and photos, and soon we will get some video footage.
Steve and Kyle are the proud owners of the dirtiest Ford GT on the planet right now...
Here is another tidbit from Kyle after he and Steve finished up the first day: "Today was an AWESOME day!!!! The third stage was 53 Kilometers long, we caught 5 cars and were able to pass 4 of them. Then on the very last stage we passed three more cars..."
NADAguides is very proud to sponsor Steve, Kyle and the STILLEN team and equally excited to watch their progress...stay tuned for more updates from New Zealand.
The best looking dirt covered car I have ever seen.
