New all-new models and some powertrain improvements define the 2003 Mercedes-Benz line-up for 2003. The German luxury car company enhances their popular E-Class sedan line-up adding standard features and available air suspension to the more sophisticated four-door. A wider and longer high-end roadster than its predecessor, the new 2003 SL-Class model actually records a reduced weight. Approximately 125 pounds lighter, the Mercedes-Benz flagship convertible is enhanced with technologies such as brake-by-wire and an active suspension system. A 2003 SL500 with a 5.0-liter V-8 and an SL55 AMG with a supercharged V-8 is offered. The flagship S-Class adds some significant potency for 2003. S430 and S500 models can be ordered with 4Matic all-wheel drive while two other models feature more powerful engines. A new Mercedes-Benz S600 is propelled by a turbocharged 5.5-liter V-12 while a new supercharged AMG model develops 493 horsepower. Two major additions have been made to the C-Class line-up for 2003. Powered by a supercharged V-6 engine, the all-new C32 AMG is a performance-oriented sedan motivated by 349 horsepower. For 2003, the entry-level C240 and C320 models can now be equipped with Mercedes-Benz's 4Matic all-wheel drive technology.
