Porsche Cayenne Models and Cayenne History

In 2003, Porsche got on the SUV bandwagon and introduced the Cayenne luxury SUV crossover. It featured a powerful V8 engine with optional active suspension and real sports-like performance. The 2004 Cayenne now offered a V6 engine option for buyers. Porsche added the hill-holder clutch, a powered liftgate, updated and body-colored fascias and optional panoramic sunroof for 2005. The wheels were also widened, the climate control system was updated and the front airbags were upgraded. They Cayenne saw no changes in 2006 and skipped a model year in 2007. It returned in 2008 with more powerful engine options, a new GTS trim level, new tail lights, a slightly revised frontend and a shuffling of addable options.

 

The Turbo S was added back to the lineup in 2009, offering 550 horses. Meanwhile, Bluetooth and iPod integration were added to the touchscreen, alongside a suite of newly available options. Several new colors and the special edition Cayenne S Transsyberia and the Cayenne GTS Porsche Design Edition 3 trims were added for 2010. An all-new design was rolled out for 2011 with a new Hybrid model. The Cayenne got a new blind-spot warning system in 2012 with minor changes made to optional packages. The Cayenne Diesel was added to the lineup in 2013, and an analog clock was made standard on the dashboard. The Turbo S and Platinum Edition, each which offered 550 horsepower, debuted in 2014.
