The 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport debuted as an all-new model that offered a sportier take on the rugged characteristics of the Montero, complete with a 2.0-liter Inline 4-cylinder engine that was rated at 148 horsepower. Some updates to the trim levels and basic improvements in handling earmarked the 2012 model. For 2013, the Montero Sport would get an updated exterior with a new sound insulation for a quieter ride and an upgraded audio system. New audio controls were added to the steering wheel and an optional HD touchscreen console was made available in 2014.
