Mercedes-Benz introduced the CLS-Class in 2006, adding a new luxury sedan to the lineup. More engine power was the theme for 2007, with an available 5.5-liter V8 engine that could made 382 hp and an AMG model that could churn out 507 hp. A Harman Kardon audio system and collision mitigation system were made standard for this model year as well. Aside from new wheels and standard HD radio, much was the same for 2008.
A subtle style update, new grille, new wheels, LED tail lights, heated mirrors with embedded turn signals and new exhaust tips rounded out the changes for 2009. An updated steering wheel, standard HD radio and an upgraded GPS were the big changes for 2010. Much was the same for 2011, with a redesigned CLS-Class being introduced in 2012. Model years 2013-2014 would yield subtle updates to upper trim levels.
