The all-new SC 430 sports coupe by Lexus was unveiled for the 2002 model year, offering a sporty roadster with a signature style and plenty of amenities with options for a convertible top and a serenely powerful 4.3-liter V8 engine that produced 300 horsepower. The SC 430 carried over to 2003 and through 2004 with no changes except for the addition of the Lexus Link system. In 2005, Lexus added new shock absorbers to create a more comfortable ride. Run-flat tires were also made available as an added option. A new six-speed automatic transmission was added with adaptive headlights, new tail lights, an updated fascia, modernized interior and exterior styling and a brand new gauge cluster for 2006. Safety was the theme of the 2007 model, where knee airbags were added for passengers and a passenger-detection system was added in the front to enabled or disable airbags. The seventh-generation 2008 SC 430 got new scuff plates and new wheels as well as the popular Pebble Beach limited edition. The only notable change for 2009 was the addition of turn signals to the side mirrors. Fresh off-the-line for 2010, the SC 430 got sportier 18 alloy wheels, new puddle lamps, an updated GPS system and the long awaited Bluetooth/iPod/USB integration.
A two-door, four-passenger convertible sports car, the 2003 Lexus SC 430 features two great items, a power-retractable hardtop roof, and a 300 hp V8 engine; both of which combine for top-down driving pleasure.
