Lexus IS 250 Models and IS 250 History

The all-new IS 250 was released in 2006, intended to replace the aging IS 300. It offered an array of new and luxurious features with a more spacious and affording cabin, boasting a powerful 2.5-liter V6 engine that could produce 204 horsepower. The 2007 model year carried modest changes, including minor tweaks to the suspension, improved traction and stability control and minor trim adjustments overall. In 2008, Lexus made changes to the finish on the wheels, made improvements to the seatbacks on the front, and improved the steering to make it more superfluous. 2009 yielded minor changes and upgrades made to the suspension and stability control system, in addition to minor interior and exterior updates. In 2010, Lexus made dozens of electronic features standard and updated the GPS system, too. The front and back were restyled in 2011, and a new F Sport package was added. In addition, xenon headlights and adaptive cruise control were added as options. No major changes were made for the 2012 model year, and only minor changes, like the addition of HD radio, and the discontinuation of the manual transmission, were made for the 2013 lineup. In 2014, Lexus announced the entirely redesigned IS 250, with a new interior and exterior, plenty of new options, more interior room, improved safety features and a revised suspension and steering system.
