One of three body styles for the Chrysler Sebring offered in 2005, the coupe version provided an element of sportiness and comfort to a relatively affordable car. Receiving a new front fascia for the 2003 model year, the 2005 Sebring Coupes styling incorporated unique taillights and rode on a shorter wheelbase than the sedan. Eight exterior color choices were available with the 2005 Chrysler Sebring Coupe.
Offered only as a base and Limited trim level for 2005, the Chrysler Sebring Coupe was available with a four-cylinder as well as six-cylinder powerplant. Propelled by a 2.4-liter inline-four engine, the base Sebring Coupe boasted 147 horsepower and average fuel economy above 24 miles per gallon. The Sebring Coupe Limited received the more refined 200-horsepower, 3.0-liter V-6 as a standard engine. Both variants of the 2005 Chrysler Sebring Coupe were equipped with a standard four-speed automatic transmission.
An AutoStick shifter allowing manual gear selection came optional on the Sebring Coupe Limited. Standard equipment on the base Chrysler Sebring Coupe includes a four-disc CD changer, power windows, security system, electronic speed control and 16-inch wheels. The Limited trim model rides on 17-inch aluminum wheels and has an Infinity seven-speaker sound system installed for added enjoyment. Optional on the Sebring Coupe Limited is an anti-lock braking system and leather interior. The Sebring Coupe was dropped from the Chrysler vehicle line-up after the 2005 model year. While a fixed hardtop coupe did not return with the Sebrings 2007 redesign, Chrysler offered a retractable hardtop convertible in 2008.
