The Chevrolet one-ton pickup truck officially joined the HD line-up for the 2007 model year and made quite the entrance. The optional powerplant was a Duramax 6.6-liter turbocharged diesel engine generating a mammoth 365 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque.

 

 

Offered with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD boasts the mechanical advantages of a hydroformed ladder frame chassis, standard four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock braking system and an integrated trailer brake controller. All body styles of the heavy-duty pickup truck could be ordered as a single rear wheel or dual rear wheel (dually) configuration presenting enhanced payload handling abilities.

 

 

Maximum towing capacity for the Silverado 3500HD was rated at 13,000 pounds. In 2011, a revised version of the Duramax 6.6-liter V-8 turbo diesel engine was introduced to the Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD producing 397 horsepower and 765 pound-feet of torque. With a fifth wheel hitch, the 2011 Silverado 3500HD can tow up to 21,700 pounds. Chevrolet introduced a new-generation Silverado 3500HD for the 2015 model year.
