Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Crew Cab Models and Silverado 2500 Crew Cab History
Previously offered only as a regular and an extended cab body style, Chevrolet added a crew cab version of the Silverado 2500 to their pickup truck line-up in 2004. A 153-inch wheelbase truck featuring a shot box bed, 49.6 cubic feet of cargo volume is presented at the rear of the Silverado 2500 Crew Cab.
At the front of the crew cab truck, engine power for the crew cab arrived from a 6.0-liter Vortec 6000 V-8 powerplant furnishes 300 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque to either a rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive system. Connected to the engine of the 2004 Silverado 2500 Crew Cab is a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a Tow/Haul Mode. Up to 10,300 pounds of load could be towed by the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Crew Cab. The crew cab interior of the truck provides enough room to fit up to six adult passengers. Air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, 16-inch alloy wheels and keyless entry was standard on the 2004 Silverado 2500 Crew Cab LS model.
An LT model of the Chevrolet four-door truck received additional amenities including leather seating and a Bose Premium sound system. Four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock braking system, automatic headlamps and dual front air bags are standard safety equipment. Displaying a heightened level of technological advancement, the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Crew Cab was available with the option of Quadrasteer. Quadrasteer served as a four-wheel steering team allowing the truck to turn up to 21 percent tighter. The base 2500 model of the Chevrolet Silverado line-up was discontinued after the 2004 model year.
