About Versa

Launched in 2007, the Verse by Nissan offered a competitively priced subcompact car with a spacious interior and plenty of standard features and optional add-ons. In 2008, Nissan released the sedan version of the Versa, complementing its hatchback cousin. A new 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine was introduced in the base model for 2009.

Antilock brakes and fog lights were added as standard features on some trim levels for 2010, with a new grille design and GPS also being made available. Model years 2011-2012 saw subtle changes. But in 2013, an all-new continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) made the Versa more fuel efficient. The carmaker discontinued the hatchback version during this model year, too. And plenty of previously optional features were now made standard. The only changes in store for 2014 were minor updates to various trim levels.
