Updates for 2004 included the addition of multicontour front seats, rear parking sensors and a premium Harmon-Kardon audio system. For 2005, Mercedes-Benz discontinued complimentary maintenance While there were no changes in 2006, 2007 had plenty. A redesigned exterior boasted LED tail lamps, a new instrument cluster graced the interior along with a new steering wheel and dashboard controls, and bi-xenon headlamps were added to the front. The addition of a backup camera and the TeleAid emergency communication system and were the notable changes for 2008. A 5.5-liter V8 engine good for 382 hp and an available AMG engine good for 500 hp were the big changes for 2009, with new multi-contouring and ventilated front seats, a new COMMAND system interface and iPod integration as well HD radio. New side moldings, new door handlings, a cover for the spare tire and a wood accented steering wheel rounded out the big changes for 2010. There would be no significant updates for 2011.
