About Mazda5

The Mazda 5 was introduced in 2006 as a compact yet roomy, feature-rich minivan. It was powered by a 2.3-liter Inline four-cylinder engine that was rated at 157 horsepower. In 2007, Mazda added the new Ground Touring Trim, which boasted heated seats, leather upholstery and powerful HID headlamps. The 2008 Mazda 5 featured new styling on the front and rear, a new center console design and a new gauge cluster that was electroluminescent. The four-speed automatic transmission was discontinued in favor of a five-speed, except in the Sport trim, which got a five-speed manual. Various other minor tweaks were made to different trim levels during this model year. While no changes were made for 2009, the 2010 Mazda 5 offered traction and stability control as standard features. The Mazda 5 would coast through 2011 unchanged, but was completely redesigned for 2012. In 2013, USB and iPod integration was made standard, and the six-disc CD changer was discontinued.
