Maserati GranTurismo Models and GranTurismo History

The Maserati GranTurismo made its debut in 2008, lauded as a brand-new luxury performance coup, powered by an admirable 4.2-liter V8 engine that was rated at an astounding 405 horsepower. The second year of production for the GranTurismo saw the addition of the coveted Bose multimedia sound system, as well as the debut of the new S package that offered a bigger 4.7-liter V8 engine. In 2010, Maserati introduced the convertible version of the GranTurismo, updated the rocker panels and made slight revisions to the interior. A new wood steering wheel graced the sports car in 2011, along with an updated body trim (on the S models) and subtle interior and exterior tweaks. For 2012, Maserati discontinued the base models V8 engine, retuned the MC model, and discontinued the clutch-automated transmission in favor of the automatic. The 2013 GranTurismo saw the S model relabeled as the Sport model with added power to the 4.7-liter V8 engine. The single clutch-automated manual transmission was reintroduced, and the interior and exterior received subtle updates.
