The entrance of Lexus was christened by introduction of the LS and ES sedan during the 1989 calendar year. Directly targeting established luxury sedans produced by American and European brands, the original Lexus LS specifically succeeded in capturing a new crowd of premium buyers thanks to high-end quality engineering and a lower initial price compared to similar sedans. Over the years, the Lexus LS has led the luxury sedan industry with technological advancements including the availability of adaptive cruise control and the attention-grabbing Advanced Parking Guidance System that aid the driver in parallel parking. Sandwiching the Lexus ES, the GS debuted in 1993 while a new entry-level sedan classified as the IS were launched in 2000. Presently, three of the four available sedans in the Lexus line-up are available as a hybrid.
