Ferrari 488 GTB Models and 488 GTB History

Succeeding the highly-successful 458 Italia, the Ferrari 488 GTB is an overall evolution on the Italian exotic car builder's mid-engined sports car. Debuting for the 2015 model year, the Ferrari 488 GTB was designed in-house at the Ferrari Styling Centre. Slightly longer in overall length than the 458 Italia, the exterior presentation of the performance machine embodies sensational aerodynamic tailoring that involves Formula 1-inspired double front spoiler and large side air intakes that also serve as a homage to the 308 GTB. Inside the Ferrari 488 GTB's cabin, handcrafted materials and an ergonomic layout includes the vehicle's Sport infotainment system and a multifunction steering wheel. Behind the driver and passenger of the 488 GTB is a twin-turbocharged V-8 engine. A 661-horsepower 3.9-liter powerplant linked to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission channel power to the rear wheels with enough effectiveness to propel the car from 0 to 62 miles per hour in three seconds. Top speed for the Ferrari 488 GTB is rated at 205 miles per hour. On the road, a full array of electronic handling support features such as F1-Trac and SCM 3 magnetorheological damping system insures the driver has maximum traction. Derived from the LaFerrari hypercar, a Brembo Extreme Design braking system delivers superior stopping power to the 488 GTB.
