Chrysler Town and Country SWB Models and Town and Country SWB History
For the first time since 2000, the premium-tailored Chrysler Town and Country was available as a short wheelbase model. At 189.5 inches in total length, the 2006 Town and Country SWB (Short Wheelbase) was 11.2 inches shorter than the traditional long wheelbase Chrysler minivan platform. The 2006 Town and Country short wheelbase model rolled on Goodyear Integrity tires mounted to 15-inch wheels. Fitted with front disc and rear drum brakes, anti-lock braking system was optional on the Town and Country SWB model.
A front-wheel drive minivan, the 2006 Chrysler Town and Countrys propulsion arrived from a 180-horsepower 3.3-liter V-6 engine connected to a four-speed automatic transmission. Providing seating for seven occupants, the cabin of the short wheelbase Town and Country was a spacious area. Cargo volume with all seven passengers inside the Chrysler minivan was rated at 19 cubic feet while 144 cubic feet is obtainable when second and third row Easy Out Roller seating are removed.
Standard equipment inside the Town and Country consisted of air conditioning, power door locks and a four-speaker audio system with CD player. Enhancing the interior comforts for the Town and Country SWB, the Popular Equipment Group includes power heated mirrors, dual-zone air conditioning, overhead console and roof rack.
A Rear Seat Entertainment System was available on the short wheelbase Chrysler Town and Country consisting of a DVD video player, seven-inch video screen and a six-speaker audio system. Front airbags and a driver-side inflatable knee blocker was standard safety equipment on the minivan while three-row side-curtain airbags were optional.
