About STS-V

Expanding their sedan performance line in 2006, Cadillacs STS sedan became the recipient of some aggressive sport-themed touches. Featuring a larger grille comprised of polished stainless steel, lowered front fascia and rocker panels, pronounced rear spoiler as well as unique 10-spoke alloy wheels, the 2006 Cadillac STS-V was instantly defined from the non-performance model. Along with accenting the look of the sedan, aesthetic details also provided practical purposes by improving airflow for aerodynamics and cooling. A special hood was also found for the Cadillac STS-V created to provide clearance for the high-output engine. The supercharged 4.4-liter V-8 engine attached to the STS-V generated 469 horsepower and 439 pound-feet of torque making the car the most powerful production Cadillac sold until the 2008 CTS-V. The STS-V was the first Cadillac and General Motors vehicle to use a new six-speed automatic transmission that included Driver Shift Control. Rear-wheel driven, Brembo disc brakes with anti-lock control, traction control and StailiTrak was in place to maintain competent handling manners for powerful sedan. Inside, passengers of the high-performance Cadillac four-door sedan rode in a cabin consisting of Olive Ash Burl wood and aluminum accents. Seating also featured suede inserts for an extra dose of luxury as well as race car-like feel.
