About LaCrosse

The LaCrosse sedan debuted in 2005 as a new beginning for the Buick brands mid-sized car. Abandoning the familiar Regal and Century nameplates, the Buick four-door was targeted to attract a younger driving crowd. For the CX and CXL models, a 3.8-liter Series III V-6 engine propelled the sedan with 200 horsepower. Additional performance from a 240-horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 came standard on the LaCrosse CXS. Employing a QuietTuning approach to minimizing undesired noise, the interior included a standard six-speaker stereo system with CD player, power windows and a power driver seat. Seating inside the 2005 LaCrosse could accommodate five occupants or six passengers with the available front bench seat. Along with comfort and performance, the 2005 Buick LaCrosse strongly touted safety through four-wheel disc brakes and the availability of General Motors StabiliTrak. In 2006, anti-lock braking and side-curtain airbags were made standard equipment on all models. Bringing V-8 power to the LaCrosse, the 2008 model year featured the 300-horsepower Super trim level. A 5.3-liter V-8 engine that incorporated Active Fuel Management propelled the Buick LaCrosse Super. The V-8 powered Super would be discontinued after the 2009 LaCrosse model year coinciding with the introduction of a redesigned LaCrosse. Featuring more refined exterior styling, the 2010 Buick LaCrosse line-up featured two powerful V-6 engines, a new four-cylinder powerplant and an all-wheel drive option. The 3.0-liter V-6 was removed from availability on the sedan in 2011. For 2013, IntelliLink became standard on the LaCrosse providing occupants with hands-free calling, navigation and entertainment through a touchscreen. When Buick dropped the Lucerne after 2011, the LaCrosse has been the flagship sedan for the car make.
