About Encore

Foreseeing the emergence of smaller premium vehicles, the Buick Encore resides as one of the smallest crossovers introduced for the North American luxury market in 2013. With an overall length of just 168.5 inches, the compact shape was 33 inches shorter than the Enclave. Equipped with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, the Encores trim packages included a base, Convenience, Leather and Premium level. Powered by a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine, the four-cylinder unit generates 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. The engine of the Buick Encore is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. With front-wheel drive, the 2013 Encores average fuel economy was 28 miles per gallon through city and highway travel. The all-wheel drivetrain model of the vehicle delivered fuel economy of 26 miles through average driving. The 2013 Buick Encore rides on standard 18-inch aluminum wheels and features the turning control of electric power steering. Providing five-passenger comfort, the Encore employs the noise and vibration control of Buicks QuietTuning engineering that also includes the use of Bose Active Noise Cancellation technology. Standard interior equipment found on the vehicle includes dual gloveboxes, ambient lighting, rearview camera and ten airbags. Dual-zone automatic climate control, Side Blind Zone Alert and a seven-speaker Bose audio system can be equipped on the Encore through the available trim levels. During 2014 and 2015, the Buick Encore received several high-tech enhancements. The 2014 Buick Encore became one of the first vehicles to be integrated with Apples Siri technology. For 2015, the Encore will receive available high-speed 4G LTE and a standard Wi-Fi hotspot.
