For 2017, FIAT recalls the Italian brand's classic 124 Spider sold from the 1960s to the 1980s. Sharing a rear-wheel drive chassis with the current Mazda MX-5, the latest iteration 2017 FIAT 124 Spider is differentiated by styling and performance tweaks. The 124 Spider is powered by FIAT's turbocharged MultiAir four-cylinder engine generating a base 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. A spicier Abarth version of the 124 Spider is also available with a mildly more powerful engine as well as a Bilstein suspension. The FIAT 500 hardtop and the 500c (Cabrio) lineup has been simplified with only the Pop, Lounge or Abarth model available with optional features selectable by a wider option list. A three-trim level line also exists for the 2017 model year 500L and 500X models consisting of Pop, Trekking or Lounge.
