Acura heads into 2017 prepared to take some audacious directions with two vehicles in their product lineup. The 2017 model year marks the end of the long stretching development cycle for Acura's latest supercar. A continuation of the cutting-edge NSX that boldly defined the budding luxury car brand in the 1990s, the new 2017 NSX re-imagines the nameplate with reminiscent design elements and a hybrid powertrain generating a combined 573 horsepower output. As the NSX takes the place as Acura's halo vehicle, the Acura MDX crossover remains a pivotal high-selling product. For 2017, the MDX receives several upgrades notably reflected in a new front end derived from the Acura Precision Concept featuring the departure of the ‘Power Plenum' grille. A Sport Hybrid version of the MDX debuts in 2017 combining a 3.0-liter V-6 engine with a twin electric motor setup. Borrowing inspiration from their Pirelli World Challenge race car version of the TLX, a GT package is unveiled for 2017 with bodywork accents. No major changes will be found on the 2017 model year Acura ILX and RDX but the flagship RLX sedan receives AcuraWatch on all trims.
