2016 model year changes

For 2016, the MINI Cooper hardtop is categorized as a super ultra-low emitting vehicle, or SULEV, thanks to updates to the 3-cylinder engine. The Sport Package now includes dynamic damper control, which allows drivers to adjust the suspension as driving conditions require. The Loaded Package and Visual Boost Package have been discontinued. Finally, the high-performance John Cooper Works model is now available as a hardtop.

The four-door Mini Cooper hardtop offers more room and ease of access than its two-door, soft-top cousin, and comes in three trim levels. Standard features include: 15” alloy wheels, powered side mirrors (folding/heated), media enhanced steering wheel (tilt and telescope), refrigerated glove compartment, 60/40 split rear seating, Bluetooth/iPod/USB connectivity, faux leather upholstery (vinyl) and basic six-speaker audio system with HD radio. Upgrades can get you larger wheels (up to 18”), LED headlights and foglights, rear parking sensors with parking camera, computer controlled parking system, remote entry/start, GPS and a Harman Kardon sound system with 10 speakers. Under the hood is a zippy and turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that’s rated at 134 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque.
