With much focus placed on vehicles for the 2017 model year, the Ford brand's 2016 product line consists largely of mildly revisions with a few exceptions. The Ford Explorer is extensively restyled for 2016 featuring a more truck-like front end. Powertrains for the 2016 Ford Explorer are also revised with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine replaced by a new 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder powerplant. Following a roaring debut of its striking sixth-generation styling and engineering, the Ford Mustang line-up now has a new high-performance benchmark with the arrival of the 2016 Shelby GT350 Mustang. Featuring a 5.2-liter V-8 engine utilizing a flat-plane crankshaft, the 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang is propelled by 526 horsepower.
For added performance, the Shelby GT350R Mustang is a limited-production variant employing weight-saving features and race-inspired aerodynamics. For 2016, several Ford models feature the availability of the brand's newest SYNC technology. Ford SYNC 3 functions with a new interface designed to operate in a similar manner as a touchscreen smartphone or tablet. Improved voice recognition and better, quick AppLink integration. Attention with the blue oval brand is locked on the 2017 model year with the planned introduction of the F-150 Raptor, Ford Focus RS, Ford F-Series Super Duty and the new Ford GT.
