2016 was a year of big changes for Chevrolet. The Cruze compact, mid-size Malibu, and extended-range electric Volt were all redesigned, leaving only the Sonic, Impala, and SS sedans unchanged. Chevrolet has buyers of all classes covered. The Sonic is the subcompact entry, while the Cruze is one size up, followed by the Malibu. The Volt offers electric-only power for about 50 miles, before a range-extended gasoline motor kicks on. The Impala is Chevy’s full-size bread and butter car, while the SS is for those who want a large, rear-drive performance car. The Cruze and Malibu now both offer updated looks and new technology, safety, and convenience features. The Volt also has new looks as well as improved electric-only range, and it’s now technically able to call itself a five-passenger vehicle.
