Subaru have redesigned the WRX and the WRX STi for 2015. In addition, the cars will also no longer be sold under the Impreza name and are now their own model. Despite the elevation to standalone model status, the cars still serve the same function as the old Impreza WRX, namely to be a practical, all-weather sport sedan that still gets decent mileage.

The Subaru WRX and STi compete against a variety of machinery across several segments. The Subarus are fast and handle very well, with the STi being in direct competition with sports cars such as the Nissan 370Z. However, they offer a degree of practicality that puts them up against many compact, similarly priced European cars like the MINI Cooper and BMW 2-series. The WRX starts at just over $26,000, while the more powerful STi has a base price just under $34,500.
