Special features for 2014

The Toyota Highlander is a mid-sized near-luxury crossover competing in a crowded segment where just about every major auto manufacturer has a hat in the ring. Toyota knows that for their entry to be successful, they'll have to offer lots of technology and convenience at the right price, to go along with their solid reputation for reliability. The 2014 Highlander plays right into this strategy with plenty of standard features, plus a bevy of options. Attractive new styling is the icing on the cake, helping the Highlander to stand out in a crowded field.
Delivered as a front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive crossover vehicle, the 2014 Toyota Highlander has been given a sophisticated redesign involving the use of high-strength steel and aerodynamic roof rails. For the 2014 model year, the Toyota Highlander is available in LE, LE Plus, XLE, Limited and Limited Platinum trim. Powerplant options for the 2014 Highlander crossover consist of a four-cylinder and six-cylinder engine. Available only on the LE model of the 2014 Toyota Highlander, a 2.7 liter four-cylinder engine features 185 horsepower as well as peak fuel economy of 22 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving. The remainder of the 2014 Toyota Highlander line-up is powered by a 270 horsepower, 3.5 liter V-6 engine. A new six-speed automatic transmission featuring a sequential shift mode is paired with the V-6 engined versions of the 2014 Toyota Highlander crossover. On the 2014 Toyota Highlander LE, 18-inch alloy wheels, 3 power outlets, remote keyless entry system and a 6.1-inch Entune touchscreen infotainment system is standard. Integrated fog lights, three-zone automatic climate control and an adjustable power liftgate are additions presented on the LE Plus model. The 2014 Toyota Highlander XLE upgrades the first and second row seating with standard leather trim while also presenting a navigation system. Progressing to the 2014 Toyota Highlander Limited, integrated backup camera and LED daytime running lights is included at no cost. A Platinum upgrade to the 2014 Toyota Highlander Limited adds an array of collision avoidance systems, panoramic moonroof and heated steering wheel.
